Environmental Declaration

As a good corporate citizen of the global community, HOHSEI INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. is committed to protecting the global environment through its environmental management system.
In order to “realize a better society,” we will act in accordance with the following environmental policy.

Environmental Policy

  1. In our business operations, we set environmental objectives and targets, implement them, review the results, and continuously improve them in order to ensure the prevention of air, noise, vibration, and water pollution related to environmental impacts and to conduct effective activities.
  2. We will comply with laws and regulations, environmental regulations of local governments, and the environmental commitments of our suppliers and others, and ensure that they are implemented.
  3. To curb global warming, we will actively engage in energy conservation, resource conservation, recycling, and waste reduction.
  4. We will ensure that everyone who works for our company understands and is familiar with our environmental policy, and will strive to raise awareness of environmental conservation.
    We also ask our major business partners involved in our operations to understand and cooperate with our environmental policy.
  5. We will endeavor to live in harmony with the local community through active participation in and cooperation with local activities, and will be mindful of dialogue with the community.

Women’s advancement / Action plan

Target ①

Increase the number of female workers in managerial positions above the rank of section chief by at least one.

<Details of Initiatives>
From April 2022  Provide training for the initial internal development of candidates for management positions for women workers in roles.
From April 2024  Provide additional internal development training for management candidates for women workers in roles.
From April 2026  Provide external training for potential managers of women workers in roles.
Target ②

The average number of days of annual paid leave taken by workers shall be at least 10 days.

April 2022  Tracking the use of annual paid leave.
April 2023  Hear workers’ opinions for the purpose of reviewing annual paid leave.
April 2024  Educate managers in each department to promote the use of annual paid leave.
April 2025 

Establish an incentive period to encourage employees to take annual paid leave.

Regional Contribution

<Head Office/Main Plant>

  • Participate in and donate to community events (1 time/year each)
    ※Sakado Nissai Cherry Blossom Festival, Sakado Yosakoi
  • Traffic safety awareness activities (once/year)
  • Road cleaning activities around the company (2 times/month)

<Shin-Shirakawa Plant>

  • Participation in community events (once/year)
    ※Buddhist incantation using chanting, drumbeating, and dancing
  • Cleaning and weeding of roads around the company (school children’s paths)
  • Snow removal work on surrounding roads (school children’s paths) during snowfall
  • Participation in village-wide cleanup (once/year)
